Anna Leopolder

Visual Artist and Music Producer

Anna Leopolder studied fine arts at the Kunstakademie Duesseldorf (Prof. Jan Dibbets) and Hochschule der Kuenste Berlin (Prof. Karl-Horst Hoedicke). She lives in Berlin and works as a visual artist – see visual work.

In the 1990s, she was founding member of two notorious trash/postpunk bands in Hamburg, Germany: “Mausi Sisters” and “Meckatzer Bubn”.
From 1995 – 2002 she worked as a DJ (DJ Anna Elle) playing electronica, deep house and minimal in Berlin clubs like Panorama Bar (Ostgut), SO36, Pfefferbank, Schwuz and many more. Also gigs throughout Germany and Europe.

Since 2014 she has also been working as music producer/remixer, live performer and composer of scores.
Her music oscillates between beauty and weirdness, poetic finesse and raw tension. Basically all her tracks and remixes have got this unique dark and cryptical atmosphere which is immediately captivating.

She has performed live at CTM Vorspiel 2020 (Berliner Kindl Brauerei), Mensch Meyer (Berlin) Lauschangriff (Berlin), Übel & Gefährlich (Hamburg) etc.

Her music has been released on several labels such as Berlin based Reveller Records, TWIRL! Also 2 remixes for Gudrun Gut + Werkstatt – „Repetition“.
